Healthy Start Scheme
Healthy Start is a Government Scheme to help buy healthy food and milk and collect vitamins if you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4.
If eligible, you will be provided with a prepaid card with money on it that you can use in some UK shops and your benefits will be loaded onto the card every 4 weeks.

You can use your card to buy:
- Plain liquid cow's milk
- Fresh, frozen, and tinned fruit and vegetables
- Fresh, dried, and tinned pulses
- Infant formula milk based on cow's milk
Types of vitamins
Healthy Start vitamins – these support you during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Vitamin Drops – Suitable for babies and young children to 4 years old

Vitamins can also be collected using your card from the following below locations across the county. Vouchers and cash payments are also accepted at all sites except those marked with an *astrix, these sites can only accept vouchers.
